Brabus Smart Fortwo Electric Drive

For 10 years already smart Brabus has stood for dynamism and sportiness. Since 2002 the company founded by smart and the tuning specialist Brabus from Bottrop have brought top versions of the popular car brand to the market. At the 2012 Geneva Motor Show the Brabus version of the smart fortwo electric drive will show what these look like in the era of electric mobility. The dynamic character of the car is not only expressed in its appearance, but also in enhanced performance.
"The smart Brabus electric drive is our sports car with a green heart", says smart boss Dr. Annette Winkler. "Electric driving in the city is more fun than ever with this 2.69 metre short bundle of power.
"The smart Brabus electric drive will be available from smart centers in 12 countries from the end of this year. In addition to modifications to the exterior and interior styling, its drive has been designed for particularly dynamic and powerful acceleration. Aerodynamic body styling parts, Brabus sports suspension and Brabus Monoblock 16/17 inch alloy wheels add to the sporty appeal.
Dynamic and powerful acceleration: the smart Brabus electric drive
Zero local emissions but maximum driving fun: the smart Brabus electric drive proves that cutting-edge urban mobility can be combined with lively agility and a sporty look. The electric motor is based on the state-of-the-art drive technology of the new smart fortwo electric drive and has an output of 60 kW. The smart Brabus electric drive delivers maximum torque of 135 Nm, which means that it almost always wins when pulling away at the traffic lights. The new Brabus sports suspension makes a decisive contribution to driving fun by bringing the vehicle approximately ten millimetres closer to the asphalt. The sporty character is accompanied by a special Brabus sound to match, generated by a sound module. The smart Brabus electric drive comes with a Brabus sports steering wheel with steering wheel gearshift as a standard feature. Recuperation can be regulated with the help of the shift paddles.

The smart Brabus electric drive has a dynamic look that also signals environmental friendliness: the tridion safety cell and door mirror caps are painted in electric green whilst black dominates on all other body parts - even the front grille. Dark Brabus headlamps, Brabus "Monoblock VII" alloy wheels measuring 16" at the front and 17" at the rear, and Brabus Xclusive aerodynamic body styling parts (a front spoiler and a special rear apron insert with double reflectors) round off the sporty look.
In the interior accent trim parts and contrast components also come in electric green. Numerous Brabus Xclusive components, including the instrument panel and interior door trim in leather look, leather seats, stainless steel sports pedals with rubber nubs, Brabus hand-brake handle and Brabus dashboard instruments (cockpit clock and rev counter) lend the interior a dynamic and exclusive look.

Smart fortwo

The spring of 2012 will see the smart fortwo making its mark in a striking new look, featuring an upgraded exterior and a fresh leather/fabric mix in the interior. The smart fortwo is available for ordering now. The first vehicles will reach dealers at the beginning of April 2012.
The substantially revamped smart fortwo sports a markedly more dynamic appearance, featuring a larger radiator grille with integrated logo, striking front aprons in a new design, horizontally arranged LED daytime driving lights, muscular side skirts and modified rear aprons. "The way in which the fortwo now displays the smart logo more prominently stands for the brand's new self-confidence," notes smart boss Dr Annette Winkler." The smart fortwo has long become an icon that is a defining feature of urban traffic throughout the world."

The chrome-coloured logo is now positioned directly in the black radiator grille. The air inlets under the number plate have been combined into a single unit, lending the smart fortwo a bolder appearance. The new, optionally available LED daytime driving lights are now arranged horizontally. There is also a choice of three new alloy wheels: the smart fortwo passion comes with a new 9-spoke alloy wheel; two additional alloy wheels fitted with wide tyres and featuring a 3-spoke and 3-twin-spoke design respectively round off the range. The choice of colours comprises seven options, including matt anthracite for the first time. The smart fortwo Brabus Xclusive is now also optionally available in white. In addition to the three soft top colours for the smart cabrio which were previously available from the smart programme (black, red, blue), the smart Brabus tailor made programme offers six other soft top colours.
While the main focus of this facelift is on the exterior, there are changes inside the car, too. These include a new, high-quality interior package in crystal grey, comprising a fresh leather/fabric combination for the seats, an imitation leather/fabric mix for the door trims and black imitation leather for the instrument panel in combination with a grey knee pad.

The pulse and passion equipment lines are generally more colourful options than the basic pure model. pulse and passion highlight the frame of the front grille and the rear trim strip in silver, for example, while the front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron are painted in the car's exterior colour. The door mirror caps are finished in the tridion colour. On the smart pure, these components are black.
The five lines - pure, pulse, passion, Brabus and Brabus Xclusive - are to be retained. Similarly, the smart fortwo will continue to be available as a coupé and cabrio version and with six engine and motor variants. The spectrum ranges from the particularly environment-friendly electric power train in the fortwo electric drive and the efficient micro hybrid petrol engine through the powerful turbo petrol engine to the fuel-efficient cdi turbodiesel. Prices begin at € 10,275 for the smart fortwo 45 kW mhd pure.
The new model generation represents the continuation of a unique success story for smart: as a trendsetter the smart fortwo has been redefining individual urban mobility for more than ten years now. It combines responsibility to the environment and high ecological standards with joie de vivre and a high fun factor. With its compact dimensions the two-seater takes up less road and parking space than any other car around.
More than 1.3 million smart fortwos have been delivered to customers since the first model was launched in 1998. 101,996 smart fortwos were handed over to customers worldwide in 2011 - 4.6 percent more than in the previous year.

The car2go mobility service is also attracting growing numbers of fans. Over 2000 smart fortwos are currently in operation for 60,000 customers in seven cities around the globe. car2go is already successfully up and running in Ulm and Hamburg (Germany), Austin and San Diego (USA), Vancouver (Canada), Vienna (Austria) and Amsterdam (Netherlands). car2go will be launching in Lyon (France), Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Washington D.C. and other cities in 2012.

Brabus 800 Coupe

800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW, 1,420 Nm (1,047 ft-lb) and a 350-km/h (217-mph) top speed: in the new Brabus 800 Coupe based on the 2011 Mercedes CL 600 Brabus celebrates the world debut of the world's fastest and most powerful luxury coupe at the 2011 Dubai International Motor Show. In addition to its unique performance the two-door car's most impressive features are its exclusive sporty-elegant design and its high-class interior.
The 12-cylinder engine of the CL 600 is reengineered thoroughly in the Brabus engine-building shop that is equipped with state-of-the-art machine tools. Displacement is increased from 5.5 to 6.3 liters (336 to 384 cu. in.) with the help of a special Brabus crankshaft with longer stroke, larger cylinder bore and correspondingly larger forged pistons. Further performance-enhancing modifications to the engine itself are the fine-machining of the two cylinder heads for optimized mixture flow and the installation of four special camshafts.

The engine peripherals are modified extensively as well: the standard twin-turbo system is replaced with a high-end turbocharging system designed by the Brabus engine specialists. The new system features two custom exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers as well as four water-to-air intercoolers. The combustion air is supplied by a carbon-fiber ram-air intake integrated into the hood. In addition there is a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts.
Precision-programmed mapping for injection and ignition coordinate the optimal interaction of the high-performance components in order to achieve not only maximum power yield but also to meet strict current EURO V emission limits. The high-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain are supplied by technology partner ARAL.
Brabus 800 Coupe

As a result of the extensive modifications the Brabus 800 V12 Biturbo engine delivers unparalleled performance figures: the engine produces its maximum rated power output of 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at a low 5,500 rpm. Even more colossal is the peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 ft-lb) available from 2,100 rpm. In the car peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 ft-lb).
Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission that has been reinforced to handle the enormous power, and the Brabus high-performance limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent. Naturally the Brabus 800 Coupe retains all modern vehicle stability systems that can be deactivated at the push of a button.
This engine under the hood makes the Brabus 800 Coupe the world's most powerful and fastest four-seat luxury coupe. From rest the exclusive two-door car sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds and reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) after a mere 10.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h (217 mph).
These extremely fast speeds place especially high demands on the aerodynamic-enhancement components that were developed in the wind tunnel. The sophisticated shape of the Brabus front spoiler that attaches to the production fascia reduces lift on the front axle for further improved directional stability at high speed.
To achieve a precise aerodynamic balance Brabus equips the CL with an understated rear spoiler on the trunk lid and a rear fascia insert. The insert replaces its production counterpart in the bumper and features a central reflector as well as one custom-tailored cutout on either side to provide the perfect backdrop for the four tailpipes of the Brabus sport exhaust system.
Exciting design, top-notch quality and further improved driving dynamics are the outstanding characteristics of the Brabus Monoblock wheels, which are available for the Mercedes CL-Class with diameters ranging from 18 to 22 inches. To make safe use of the car's impressive performance requires Brabus Monoblock 21-inch wheels, available as Monoblock VI, E or F designs. Brabus technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA supply tried and tested high-performance tires in size 265/30 ZR 21 in front and size 295/25 ZR 21 on the rear axle.
Brabus 800 Coupe

The Brabus ride-height lowering module for the standard ABC suspension is specifically calibrated to these ultra-low-profile tires, and lowers the body of the two-door car by some 25 millimeters (1 inch).
To keep the stunning performance safely in check at all times the Brabus 800 Coupe comes equipped with version IV of the Brabus high-performance brake system. The front axle is fitted with six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and vented and cross-drilled discs measuring 405 x 34 millimeters (16 x 1.3 in.). Together with discs measuring 380 x 34 millimeters (15.0 x 1.34 in.) and 4-piston fixed aluminum calipers on the rear axle the system delivers outstanding stopping power and endurance.
The interior received a high-class upgrade to match the car's diamond-white metallic paint finish. The Brabus upholsterers masterfully crafted an interior from a combination of white leather and black Alcantara, each with contrasting seams and diamond-pattern topstitching. Carbon-fiber elements in the cockpit add a markedly sporty touch. Their matte surfaces in "checkered flag" design make them textbook eye-catchers.
An ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel is also part of the extraordinary Brabus interior refinement as are scuff plates with backlit Brabus logo, and aluminum pedals, foot rest and shifter.
The Brabus 800 Coupe is available as a complete vehicle or can be built based on any current Mercedes CL 600 model.
